O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you, and I detest all my sins, because of Your just punishments, but most of all because they offend You, my God, who are all good and deserving of all my love.
I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace, to sin no more and to avoid the near occasion of sin. Amen.
Act of Contrition
My God, I am sorry for my sins with all of my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In his name, my God have mercy. Amen.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This schedule is in place to accommodate baptisms, funerals and weddings (now available with 25 or less in attendance). Please follow the directions you find in each church (page 5 of May 24th Bulletin). Please note, the Bishop’s directives indicate that the priest and the penitent must remain six feet apart and that the penitent should remain standing (there will be no chairs or kneelers in order to facilitate sanitizing). The priest will be in the sanctuary area of the church for confessions, you are not to enter the sanctuary area to keep social distancing. You are to stand either facing the priest, or behind him. Penitents are reminded that as they wait, they must be six feet apart from others and remain in the back of the church. The Bishop’s directives also indicate that the confessional rooms not be used. We make every attempt to keep the confession private and plan to play soft music to muffle the sound of voices.
Given that sin destroys our relationship with God and undermines our relationship with other human beings, reconciliation designates that precise effect of Christ's redemption of the human race that restores our relationship with God and our human fellowship.
Christ breaks down the barriers that sin raises between us and God, and within the human community.
Our conversion from sin and reception of divine mercy are continually renewed by confession. Serious sin separates us from the body of the church, and sacramental penance reconciles us with God and the community of his people.
This sacrament is also referred to as the sacrament of penance or confession.
